The Reason I Hate TSM

TSM: Total Sorority Move. The most negative and stereotypical website for Greek Life, which makes sororities and fraternities easily targeted.

Take a minute to read this link, "30 Things I Learned My First Semester of College": http://totalsororitymove.com/30-things-i-learned-my-first-semester-of-college/

If you are too lazy or disgusted to read it, it is written by a girl who is giving her insight on all of the lessons she learned about partying during her fall semester. They all involve drinking excessively, hooking up with guys in fraternities and putting alcohol and a social life above all things, including school.

This article absolutely makes the typical "sorority girl" look careless, crazy and disrespectful of herself and others. As a member of a sorority at the University of Oregon, I am outraged to see articles like this. The Greek Life Community is constantly under fire by national organizations and local communities in college towns. It takes one article like this for an anti-Greek Life activist to prove why we should be banned from campuses across the United States.

It's ironic because every article on the site is (presumably) written by sorority members. If I didn't know any better, I would assume that the author of this article and many others on the website was mocking Greek Life. Obviously, there are many college students who spend a lot of their time partying, but associating this lifestyle with Greek Life and putting it on a sorority website is simply unintelligent. These are not the type of things that should be advertised and put all over social media. If girls want to party and make dumb decisions, that is perfectly fine with me, but keep it to yourself.

TSM does have some helpful and entertaining articles, however it's ones like this that make the website useless and ridiculous. I strongly disagree that this article represents a "Total Sorority Move."
